Shutting down war profiteers - On the Line - Direct Action to Stop the War protest at Lockheed Martin - Brief Article

Progressive, The, June, 2003

Sunnyvale, California

Peace activists in California attempted to shut down a Lockheed Martin Facility on April 22 to demonstrate their opposition to the Iraq War and the corporations that profit from it. Lockheed Martin is one of the world's largest weapons manufacturers.

Peace activists used a variety of nonviolent tactics. The South Bay Civilian Weapons Team sent "citizen inspectors" to search for evidence of' weapons of mass destruction at the facility. Others held a die-in, and some activists blockaded roads.
