Death Penalty Party - Timothy McVeigh party cancelled - Brief Article

Progressive, The, August, 2001

From a San Diego Union Tribune on-line article on a radio station's plan to hold a Timothy McVeigh execution party at Legends Sports Bar in Long Beach: "Tim Kelly and Neil Saavedra, talk show hosts for KFI AM of Los Angeles, planned to bring a life-sized McVeigh dummy to the bar for a live broadcast yesterday afternoon, station spokeswoman Michelle Kube said.

Bar patrons would have been allowed to poke it with toy syringes, she said.... The party was canceled because the owner of Legends Sports Bar ... was uncomfortable with the idea."
