EID-video - News: division news, photography tips & more!

PSA Journal, Oct, 2001 by Christine E. Haycock

Now is the time to get out your camcorder to capture those beautiful fall colors, or go to the local high school or college and record their football game. Either choice can be a challenge!

A trip to the north at this time of year, be it Maine or Minnesota, will often reward you with nature's finest displays of color. The leaves in the early morning or late afternoon, especially with a sprinkle of rain, will delight your vision and fill your camcorder with useful footage. The backlit leaves will result in glorious video to be stored for use on many occasions.

Recording a football (or soccer) game for the local school or for your son or daughter or a neighbor's child can be very rewarding with the pleasure it will bring (especially if they won the game). Don't know how? Request the list of available teaching videos and borrow one (small mailing fee required). Contact Robert Gestel, 4408 Green Valley Dr., Arnold, MO 63010-3407.

The results of the PSA International Video section competition last month were as follows:

1st--"Santorini," by Bill and Mary Ann Leeder from Illinois

2nd--"The Magic Skateboard," by Lee Prescott, from England

3rd--"The Key" by Oscar Siebert from Germany

Highly commended were:

"I'd Rather be Diving" by Malcome Colditz from Texas

"Westlake Art Guild" Patricia Morgan

Congratulations to all the entrants!
