Photoshop Elements 6: The Missing Manual By Barbara Brundage, Published by O'Reilly Soft cover, 7 x 9, 422 pages, $39.99 US, $47.99 CAN ISBN: 10-596-51444-1 Rating *, and **

Adobe Photoshop Elements 6[R] is a new release and there are many books in various stages of release on using this new version of Elements. The manual that comes with Elements 6 is more like a quick reference guide and it doesn't go into as much depth as you might want. Elements 6 the Missing Manual is intended to make learning Elements easier by avoiding technical jargon as much as possible, and explain why and when you'll want to use (or avoid) certain features in the program.

This approach is as useful to people who are advanced photographers as it is to those who are just getting started with their first digital camera. There are tutorials throughout the book that refer to files that can be downloaded from the Missing Manual website, http://missingmanuals.com/cds/ photoshope6tmm/, so the reader can practice the techniques.

Explained in a very clear manner is Photoshop Elements 6's exciting array of new features, including the new Click Edit functions, improved RAW conversion, a handy Quick Selection Tool and much more.
