Topic: RSS FeedEID—video - Electronic Imaging
PSA Journal, May, 2003 by Christine E. Haycock
We have had a tough winter, at least here in the east with all the snow, so I am hoping that all the moisture will produce May flowers in abundance to video. Remember to get in close to show the flowers, as well as showing the field of flowers. Vary your views and use just one or three blooms to fill the frame.
To avoid shake, be sure to use a tripod when you are up close whether using wide angle or telephoto. Take many views so you can choose the best clips when you edit your video. Try to have a variety of colored flowers and include some nice green leaves. Remember that the soft light of a rainy day often produces very pleasing images. A quiet mood, musical background is often better than narration with this type of material. There are royalty-free music tapes or CDs available when entering a competition, but if you are simply making a home video, use your favorite mood music.
Do you know how to accomplish this? If not, we can help you either by personal review of your video or by sending you instructional tapes for a small rental fee. See the Services section of the April Journal for detailed information or visit the PSA website at www.psa-photo.org.
