Photo workshop at the zoo - Camera Club

PSA Journal, May, 2003 by Matt Daura

The Lincoln Camera Club (Lincoln, NE) got some good exposure working with the Lincoln Zoo. While the zoo was sponsoring a photo contest, the club conducted a photo workshop for the public fight on the zoo grounds. Held on a Saturday in April, club members set up several stations at locations around the zoo, with each station focusing on a different aspect of photography.

At each station a lead member gave a short presentation or demonstration of his/her topic and then answered any questions from the listeners. Such topics as framing, lighting, lenses, closeup photography, zoo photography, and digital photography were covered.

Other club members assisted at the station distributing handouts listing the key points of the topic and helped answer questions. The zoo, in turn, provided photo ops at the stations.
