PSA Journal, May, 2004 by G. William Buchanan
I'm almost ashamed to report that I finally entered my first electronic "virtual exhibition" and eagerly await the electronic report card.
The point that I want to stress is the simplicity of entering PSA Electronic Image Exhibitions. In the past and present also, entering Prints or Slides has been a laborious task of packaging the material and taking it to the post office or a shipping service and paying for shipment. The process has become so simplified, it's a wonder that more members are not entering these exhibitions.
All that is required is to fill out the on-line entry form, follow the instructions for sizing and sending your images and e-mail them to the exhibition representative. The only postage involved is sending your entry fee to the exhibition. Once your entry fee has been received, your entry status is noted on the exhibition website as received. All you have to do is sit back and wait for the results.
One of the benefits of the virtual exhibition is the ability to have multiple entries of the same image to other exhibitions without having to get duplicate slides or making additional prints. Please don't get me wrong. I don't advocate the demise of our Slide and Print Exhibitions. They're a vital part of our Society. But, what could be easier than doing it all on your computer?
If you have considered entering these exhibitions, but may be hesitant due to the requirements, please refer to the EID website at: http://psaeid.org/forum/ and get into an On-Line Forum and discuss your concerns.
