Updating Your Record at HQ
Headquarters keeps records of all members in a master file, which is used for the Journal mailing list, special mailings, preparing periodic membership lists, membership renewal dates, and other administrative matters. Mailings are often returned because the member has not advised HQ of their address change. Also, changes in email addresses have resulted in messages that are not received by the member. Certainly it has been a major nuisance to members to remember to advise HQ of these changes by regular mail or special message, so we now have an "update" page on the PSA website where you can furnish your updated information very easily. There is a banner (headline) on the homepage that links to the update page, so it's easy to get to. Once you're there, it is important that you furnish your membership number (it's on your membership card and on your Journal mailing label right before the date) and/or your name (if your name has changed, you must furnish the "previous" name followed by the "new" name in the appropriate spaces).
To get an immediate reply, fill in the "email address" blank, noting if it is new. By using this update form, you can make sure that HQ always has your latest information on record, and you won't have to engage in correspondence because you haven't received your Journal, or you miss out on some special announcement! Have a problem with the update form? - just click on "webmaster@psa-photo.org" and explain what's wrong - you will not only get a reply, but you will be helping making our PSA website a very useful resource!
Membership Renewals
Now you can even renew your membership from the PSA website with Visa or Mastercard through our new Secure Renewal Form accessible from the homepage!
Club Information
For some time now, the PSA website has had a complete listing of all member clubs and councils. It is now undergoing a complete revision, which will include the expiration date of the membership to the right of each club listing. This is a good time for you to check over the listing for your club and send a message to the webmaster@psa-photo.org not only for corrections, but to add an email address and URL (club website address) that are authorized for each organization. These can be very helpful for members, as well as for individuals perusing the listings trying to find a local club. Checking your listing and requesting necessary updates will help everyone.
For the Future
By the end of the year, the website should have a "Members Only" area, reachable by an ID of your last name, and your membership number as password. We expect to have a searchable membership listing, a message exchange, and other features available only to members. Your ideas, of course, are always welcome.
