Society and You - Joseph J. Zaia receives 2000 'President's Award' award - Brief Article

Joseph J. Zaia, APSA -- Honored at the Photography Club of Flagler County, Florida

At the annual awards dinner in Palm Coast, Florida, Joe Zaia, APSA was awarded the year 2000 "President's Award" as the club's outstanding member. Hal Epstein, President and also a member of the PSA, presented the award before a large turnout of club members and guests.

Hal chose Joe for the award for his outstanding contribution to the club. Joe is a charter member of the photography club and has been the program chairman since the club's beginning in 1996. He has given many instructional programs and brought speakers from PSA over the years. His knowledge of photography has inspired the members to love and improve their photo skills. He is highly regarded in the club and has gained their deep respect and appreciation.

Mr. Epstein believes that the club's success over the years has been because of Joe's involvement. This is the first "President's Award" that has been presented at the club

Joe has also inspired the club to join the PSA along with many of the members joining individually. The club has taken advantage of the many programs the PSA has to offer and all were well received by the members. J.J. Zaia, APSA is also the PSA Journal editor for the "Chapter News" and has given many programs at the national convention. "For many reasons, he's a man for all seasons" in the photography circle.

Election of National Officers

The Secretary has cast a ballot on behalf of the entire membership of the Photographic Society of America for the election of the slate of National Officers listed in the January 2001 issue of the PSA Journal. The election was uncontested. Their two-year terms, 2001-2003, begin on the day after the PSA Conference in San Diego.
