3D Center Hosts the King of 3D Comics

The 3D Center, 1928 NW Lovejoy, Portland, OR, hosted an Artist Reception for Ray Zone, The King of Comics, July 6th. His exhibition was held June 25-July 25.

Ray Zone, member of the Stereo Club of Southern California (Los Angeles), has produced stereo conversions for over 130 3D comic books and hundreds of anaglyphic applications for advertising, coloring books, t-shirts, and murals as well as science and education. As a featured artist at the 3D Center, Zone demonstrated how a 3D comic book page is built, a 3D conversion of The Barman 3D Graphic Novel, color anaglyph printing with fabrics and toys, 3D lenticular imaging for a point-of-purchase counter display for Ghostbusters II, random dot stereogram (magic eye) imaging with children's books, and a comparative display showing a single image of the cover of the Danger Girl 3D comic book in 4-color (2D), 4-color anaglyph, and lenticular 3D. Those in attendance had a rare opportunity to meet Ray and to learn more about his career.
