Bad reruns - Letters
Washington Monthly, Dec, 2002 by Paul Musgrave
Although not a part of Generation X ("Reality Bites," October)--I am, apparently, four years too young to be an X'er--I do own several replica Transformers and a Thundercats T-shirt, so I feel qualified to comment. Surely author Courtney Rubin must have noticed that aside from young (unmarried) people's fondness for '80s nostalgia, the new millennium has seen many other '80s retreads "get their groove back,' Don Rumsfeld, Dick Cheney, national missile defense, and deficits are all back in a big way.
Truly, as Rubin points out, we have an affinity for the worst of the decade.
