Left out
Washington Monthly, Dec, 2003 by Joseph K. Grieboski
In his article "In God's Country" (October), Max Blumenthal asserts that the Institute on Religion and Public Policy is a conservative think tank because of the political views of a select group of its board members, including Reverend Schenck and Sen. Rick Santorum. Allow me to state for the record that, as a non-partisan, interreligious NGO, the institute is neither conservative nor liberal. Blumenthal seemingly overlooked the institute's association with Reps. Anna Eshoo and Jesse Jackson Jr., as well as Reverend Lawrence Carter. Furthermore, the institute is not involved, despite Blumenthal's implication, in work on the question of abortion of marriage rights.
