Hunting down liberties
Washington Monthly, Sept, 2003 by Charles Peters
The ACLU is an organization of laudable purpose. But from time to time, it has displayed a tendency to focus on relatively trivial matters instead of major threats to our liberty. This instinct for the capillaries recently found expression in a lawsuit by the ACLU of West Virginia to permit hunting on Sundays.
They may have a case, but with John Ashcroft loose in the land, shouldn't liberals be expending their slim resources more judiciously?
