Voice of Native Women

Performing Arts & Entertainment in Canada, Summer, 2002

When your child turns ten, you want to do something special. That's exactly how Sandra Laronde feels about Native Women in the Arts, the organization she founded in 1993 to foster artistic and cultural expression by First Nations, Metis and Inuit women across Canada. For its 10th anniversary, NWIA recently held Red Spring Sisters, an aboriginal women's song concert in Toronto.

Upcoming is Igniting the Stage, an unprecedented evening of contemporary and traditional singing, storytelling, theatre and poetry. For details call 416-598-4078.
