STATE FARM BAYOU CLASSIC DIAMOND ANNIVERSARY: Johnson Publishing Co. President and CEO Linda,Johnson Rice joins in celebrating EBONY Magazine's partnership with the upcoming 30th anniversary of the State Farm Bayou Classic (SFBC) with (l-r) Cydni L. Bickerstaff, CEO Bickerstaff Sports & Entertainment; Ralph Slaughter, vice president Southern University System and State Farm Bayou Classic coordinator; Dr.
Angelia Young Weaver, executive assistant to the Grambling State University president and State Farm Classic coordinator; and John J. Baptiste, director of business development, Bickerstaff Sports & Entertainment. The annual event, slated for Saturday, Nov. 29 at the Louisiana Superdome in New Orleans, pits the Southern University Jaguars against the Grambling State University Tigers. The game, described as one of the most engaging gridiron rivalries in the country, brings more than 200,000 visitors, including notable corporate and civic leaders to the city. State Farm Insurance Companies is the title sponsor of the Classic which helps raise money for scholarships and academic programs at both Southern and Grambling State Universities.
