Marie Smith, president-elect for the Washington, D.C.-based AARP (American Association of Retired Persons), has been named national president of the association. Smith, a realtor associate and entrepreneur in Kahakuloa, HI, and retired Social Security Administration employee, will lead the more than 35 million-member AARP, a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization for people age 50 and over.
