WEDDING OF A LIFETIME: Melissa Summers, noted midday radio personality at KISS 104.7 in Atlanta affectionately known as "Atlanta's girlfriend," and Daryl Tate, an Atlanta police officer, were married during the type of wedding made only of dreams. Exchanging marital vows during an enchanted ceremony that incorporated African-American traditions at the Hillside Chapel and Truth Center in Atlanta, the couple's touching celebration of love was featured on Lifetime Television's "Weddings Of A Lifetime." The unforgettable event marked the first time a Black couple has ever been featured on the program.
Rev. Dr. Barbara L. King officiated the ceremony in which Summers invited all of her listeners to attend. Grammy Award-winning gospel singer BeBe Winans serenaded the happy couple at the blessed event.
