Nate Fields Named New Head Of African Development Foundation

Appointed in 1995 as vice president of the African Development Foundation (ADF) in Washington, D.C., Nate Fields was upgraded to president of the foundation when William D. Ford retired after more than 40 years of public service.
Chairman of the board of the independent federal agency Ernest G. Green swore in the new officer. The foundation focuses on the delivery of development assistance directly to poor communities in Africa.
Born in Albany, GA, Fields, a graduate of Ohio's Buffton College with a Johns Hopkins master's degree in international relations, also has worked as an analyst with the World Bank, a House staff economist, and director of his own business consulting firm. ADF has provided 1,300 grants and cooperative agreements in 34 African countries totaling $95 million.
