Actor Robert Townsend, Wife, Cheri, To Divorce

Cheri Townsend, wife of Robert Townsend, wants to end her 11-year-marriage to the famed actor-director.
Mrs. Townsend recently filed a Superior Court divorce petition, citing irreconcilable differences as the reason for the split.
She is seeking custody of their 1-year-old son and 7- and 9-year-old daughters. Property rights will be determined later, according to divorce documents attorney Gary Fishbein filed.
Townsend starred in the mid-'90s TV sitcom "The Parent 'Hood." His work as a director includes Living' for Love: The Natalie Cole Story, Little Richard and MTV's Hip Hopera: Carmen.
