Supporting Education In Africa

Jet, August 10, 1998

Rev. Leon Sullivan, founder and convener of the African-African American Summit, graciously accepts a $50,000 check from Jewel Smith, president of The Links, that will be used to support educational programs in Africa during the recent first African-African American Summit Dinner at the Grand Hyatt Washington in Washington, D.C.

Sullivan hosted the black-tie event, which was conceived as a celebration and an opportunity to formally report on the accomplishments of the African-African American Summits.
