Jet, August 10, 1998

Chris Rock's fans will be happy to know they'll be getting a chance to see a lot more of him real soon. Home Box Office (HBO) recently signed Rock to an exclusive multiyear TV deal, according to Chris Albrecht, president, HBO Original Programming.

The agreement covers the new 13-episode season of his late-night show, "The Chris Rock Show," as well as two stand-up specials, with other projects to be announced.

Rock's TV appearances will be exclusively on HBO during the term of the agreement; in addition, the network will also have exclusive TV rights to his activities as a producer and writer.

"The Chris Rock Show" wrapped up its last season of 12 weekly half-hour editions in December last year. The show's third season is scheduled to begin in August.

Rock is currently starring in the box-office smash Lethal Weapon 4.
