Michigan State Bound
Jet, Feb 15, 1999
T. J. Duckett, the No. 1-rated high school linebacker on all the college recruiting lists, addresses the media during a news conference where he announced his plans to play at Michigan State University (MSU) in the fall as his mother, Jackie Barham, listens at Loy Norrix High School in Kalamazoo, MI.
"I will be attending Michigan State University and I'm proud to be part of it," said the 6-foot-3,255-pound Duckett. "My heart told me to go to Michigan State." Duckett was a three-year starter for the Loy Norrix Knights. During that time he put the school on the prep football map of Michigan. He also was a two-year first-team all-stater as a linebacker and topped or was near the top of every recruiting service in the country. Duckett's brother, Tico, attended MSU from 1989-92 where he was a Spartan running back and earned all-Big Ten honors.
