Blacks Share Spotlight At Republican Convention In Philadelphia

Philadelphia was the site of the first Republican convention in 1856, when the party nominated John C. Fremont for president. Since then, the conventions of both parties have been marked by open debate and frequent disagreements among delegates. But this year's convention was remarkably harmonious, with the party focused on one goal: getting a Republican back into the White House.
