Support for fired Dallas police chief

Former Dallas Police Chief Terrell Bolton (c), who was recently let go by City Manager Ted Benavides, gets a hug from Ina McGee (l), as he attended a support rally at the Antioch Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church in Dallas. City officials deny that race was a factor in the decision to fire their first Black police chief, a day after his 23rd anniversary as a member of the Dallas police force, though some community members allege otherwise.
At a city council meeting, a Black councilman described the firing as a slap in the face to the city's Black residents.
