Morgan Freeman receives Spencer Tracy Award

MORGAN FREEMAN RECEIVES SPENCER TRACY AWARD: Academy Award-winning actor Morgan Freeman waves to a crowd of onlookers after he received the UCLA Spencer Tracy Award during a ceremony on the UCLA campus in Westwood, CA. The Spencer Tracy Award, established in 1988 by the late actor's daughter Susie Tracy, recognizes today's finest actors for outstanding screen performances and professional achievement. The ceremony included a video retrospective of Freeman's career, including his latest film, Lucky Number Slevin. "Spencer Tracy is known by many as one of the finest actors in film history," Freeman said. "Receiving this award is truly an honor." The only other Black to win the award is Academy Award-winner Denzel Washington.
