* SHARPTON EYES PRESIDENTIAL RUN: The Rev. Al Sharpton announces that he will form a committee to explore a possible bid for the Democratic presidential nomination in 2004 during an address at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C. Sharpton is flanked by activist-comedian Dick Gregory and Harvard professor Dr.

Cornel West, who will lead Sharpton's exploratory committee. Sharpton made the announcement several days after he was released from a federal prison in New York where he served 90 days for trespassing during the U.S. Navy bombing exercises on the island of Vieques in Puerto Rico.
