Berry spent nearly $60,000 furnishing the nurseries at her various homes prior to the recent birth of her daughter at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, reports the Chicago Sun-Times.
For her Hollywood Hills home Berry chose a Cape Cod, gender-neutral theme because she wanted the baby's sex to be a surprise, according to the TV show, "Access Hollywood." The room, which has a classic look, is complete with an organic mattress as well as organic toys. Her Malibu home, also environmentally friendly, has a more modern feel.
Berry told the celebrity news show that she and boyfriend Gabriel Aubry didn't pick out a name for the baby until they left the hospital. "For us, it was hard to name the most important person in our life until we met her," she said.
Nahla is an Arabic-based name that means, "drink of water." Born 7 pounds and 4 ounces on March 16, Nahla is the first child for Berry and Aubry.
