NEW JESSE JACKSON AWARD: Rev. Jesse L. Jackson, founder of the Rainbow/PUSH Coalition, and Jerome Simmons, president of the Midwest Radio & Music Association, present the first Jesse Louis Jackson Economic Empowerment Award during the recent Midwest Radio & Music Association conference which was held at Chicago's Westin River North Hotel.
The new honor was awarded to Cathy Hughes, founder and chair of Radio One, and accepted on her behalf by Kathy Brown (1), vice president of Radio One.
