Baptist Convention leaders greet

Jemison was a guest speaker at the president's banquet during the National Baptist Convention's annual conference. The two organizations have been "working together over the last two years toward fellowship with one another," Dr. Jemison says. Recently the National Baptist Convention denomination voted to decrease the number of board members appointed by Shaw, president since 1999. Currently, the convention has about 110 board members and under the new change the president will select four instead of 29. Five regional groups will also select five beard members each.
