Currently serving as president of the National League of Cities, Washington, D.C., Mayor Anthony Williams gallantly leads a one-man campaign to win voting rights on Capitol Hill for the thousands of residents of his city who are unable to be represented in Congress. It's likely that no topic in this democracy is more ignored than that of D.C.'s citizens not having voting representatives in the U.S.
House and Senate. Said one crusader for D.C. voting rights: "We break our necks to get the vote for people in the Middle East but neglect residents of our own capital."
