Robinson Stamp

Jet, March 8, 1999

Major League Baseball legend Jackie Robinson, who broke baseball's color barrier 52 years ago in 1947 with the Brooklyn Dodgers, has been honored on a new commemorative stamp, which was released Feb. 18. The stamp is one of the 15 honoring the 1940s as part of the U.S. Postal Service's "Celebrate the Century" program.
