JACKSON LENDS HIS SUPPORT: The Rev. Jesse Jackson addresses religious leaders during a news conference at the North Valley Jewish Community Center in the suburban neighborhood of Granada Hills in Los Angeles where White supremacist Buford O. Furrow Jr. went on a shooting spree during a summer camp.

Among those listening to Jackson are Rabbi Steven Jacobs (1) of the Kol Tikvah congregation and Dr. Nazir Khaja (c), president of the American Muslim Council. Furrow, 37, who wounded five people, three children and two women at the center, called the shootings a wake-up call to America to kill Jews. He turned himself in to the FBI in Las Vegas. He was charged with five counts of attempted murder for the center attack and one count of murder-he also gunned down a U.S. postal worker later. As the children returned to the center, they were greeted by clowns and magicians as guards and police officers watched nearby.
