NBA Star Juwan Howard Sued By Chicago Woman Who Claims He Gave Her Herpes

Dallas Mavericks star forward Juwan Howard recently was hit with a lawsuit by a Chicago woman who alleged that he gave her herpes, reported the Chicago Sun-Times.

The 20-year-old woman, calling herself "Jane Doe," filed a suit this month. She is seeking money from the basketball star, alleging he was infected and did not let her know.

Reportedly the unidentified woman claims she had a sexual relationship with Howard from May through August. She said she didn't have sex with anyone else during that time; afterward, she noticed a rash, the suit alleges.

At JET press time, Howard had not commented on the lawsuit.

It is the second time this year, according to the newspaper, that Howard has faced a herpes lawsuit. Dana Hughes filed suit in March. Like "Jane Doe," Hughes is seeking monetary damages against Howard, alleging he was infected and did not let her know.

When Hughes filed suit early this year, Howard told the newspaper, "That's some crazy stuff. This is a very embarrassing situation for my family, for my teammates, for the [Mavericks'] organization. But you're hearing it from the horse's mouth that those allegations are false, and I will vigorously defend myself."
