Jaheim headlines Seagram's Gin Live concert tour

Jet, Sept 30, 2002

R&B singing sensation Jaheim is winning rave reviews for his Seagram's Gin Live concert tour, which recently kicked off in Philadelphia.

It is the singer's first time headlining his own tour and first time ever performing with a live band. He is joined on the sizzling 24-city tour by new singer Truth Hurts and legendary rapper Biz Markie.

Jaheim performs hits from his debut platinum album, Ghetto Love, including Could It Be, Just In Case and Anything. He also performs from his upcoming album, Still Ghetto, including the current hit Fabulous.

Still Ghetto, set for release Nov. 5, also features a showstopping duet with Mary J. Blige called Beauty And A Thug.

"I'm really excited to be a part of the Seagram's Gin Love tour," Jaheim says. "It is an amazing opportunity to interact with my fans and to show them that adversity in life cannot stop you from achieving your personal and professional goals."

Born Jaheim Hoagland in the housing projects of New Brunswick, NJ, Jaheim lost his father at the age of 2--leaving his mother to raise him and his brothers on her own. At 15, Jaheim lost his mother. Yet growing up, he always felt that music and performing were his destiny.

Seagram's Gin will donate a portion of the proceeds to benefit the job training and housing initiatives of One Hundred Black Men, Inc., the national nonprofit social service organization.

Reflecting on his hit tour and much-anticipated CD, he notes, "I've been working real hard on my new CD, headlining the new Seagram's Gin tour and performing with a live band. I am excited. I'm anxious and I feel really blessed."
