PUSH FOR KING HOLIDAY: The Rev. Jesse Jackson, a native of Greenville, SC, addresses the Greenville County Council in an effort to continue his push for a formal holiday honoring the Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr. Jackson, founder of Rainbow/PUSH Coalition, said he will continue to lead protests in the county until the council observes the King holiday.
The council is reviewing the issue. The state of South Carolina and the city of Greenville observe the King Holiday, but Greenville County does not.
