The university is supporting the University of Michigan in its U.S. Supreme Court battle to preserve its affirmative action policy, which considers race as a factor in the admissions process.

The Bush administration has filed a brief urging the U.S. Supreme Court to strike down the university's policy. The court is expected to hear arguments in the case this spring.
