OutKast big winners at Soul Train Music Awards

The rap duo OutKast keeps garnering accolades. The Atlanta natives walked away with the most honors at the 18th annual Soul Train Music Awards in Los Angeles.

Big Boi and Andre 3000 won for R&B/Soul or Rap Album of the Year for Speakerboxxx/The Love Below and for R&B/Soul or Rap Music Video for Hey Ya! The group also received the Sammy Davis, Jr. Award for Entertainer of the Year (male).

Beyonce was the female recipient of the Sammy Davis, Jr. Award for Entertainer of the Year. She also nabbed the top honor for R&B/Soul Album Female for Dangerously In Love. Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams, members of the group Destiny's Child, were on stage to laud their fellow group member.

Other special award recipients included Janet Jackson and R. Kelly, who received the Quincy Jones Award for Outstanding Career Achievement in the Field of Entertainment. Kelly also received an honor for R&B/Soul Album Male for Chocolate Factory.

The audience was moved by the win of soul crooner Luther Vandross, recovering from a debilitating stroke. He won for R&B/Soul Single Male for Dance With My Father.

Alicia Keys and Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds hosted the ceremony at the International Cultural Center in Los Angeles. Keys won an award for R&B/Soul Single Female for You Don't Know My Name.

Other winners included: Floetry for R&B/Soul Single, Group, Band or Duo for Say Yes; B2K for R&B/Soul Album Group, Band Or Duo for Pandemonium; Chingy for R&B/Soul or Rap New Artist for Right Thurr; and Byron Cage for Gospel Album for The Prince of Praise (Live at New Birth Cathedral).

Soul Train Awards, which recognize R&B, rap and gospel music, are chosen by a group of radio station professionals, talent managers and performers.
