Caption: DALLAS ARTS GALA: Curtis King (2nd, l), creator and producer of the Dallas Arts Gala, thanks celebrities for participating at the star-studded benefit at the Dallas Convention Center Arena. Among the other celebrities on hand were gospel star Kirk Franklin, Regina Taylor, Bobbi Humphrey, Kiki Shepard, Beverly Crawford, Yarborough & Peoples and pop singer B.J. Thomas. King, founder and president of the Black Academy of Arts and Letters, produced the gala to raise funds for Dallas arts organizations.
