EMMY-WINNING PERFORMER: Actor Jeffrey Wright smiles proudly after his intelligent and intense role as a gay man in the AIDS-inspired mini-series "Angels In America" earned him the best supporting actor in a miniseries award at the recent 56th annual Emmy Awards. The HBO miniseries won 11 awards at the black-tie gala in Los Angeles, beating out the previous record of nine held by "Roots" 27 years ago.
Wright's win was the sole victory by any Black performer during the evening.
