TIGER WINS: Tiger Woods celebrates as his birdie putt drops on the 17th hole at Firestone Country Club in Akron, OH, during the final round of the NEC Invitational. Woods' win earned him $1 million, the largest payday of his lucrative career. His victory also makes him the first golf player to earn more than $4 million in a single year.
Woods needed the birdie as he bogeyed 18 to finish at 10 under par for a one-stroke win over Phil Mickelson. "Winning never gets old," Woods said. "Not only when you can win, but when you can beat the best players." Woods has won 12 times in 67 career PGA Tour starts and 15 golf events worldwide.
