* DREAM COME TRUE: Former Olympic track and field star Jackie Joyner-Kersee celebrates with her husband, Robert Kersee, after the ribbon-cutting ceremony to officially open the Jackie Joyner-Kersee Center Boys & Girls Club in East St. Louis, IL. The $5.8 million youth center is meant to provide an alternative to children in a community where drugs and crime are commonplace.

Kim Fields ("Living Single") gave the welcome and opening remarks at the event. Others on hand to celebrate the occasion were East St. Louis Mayor Debra Powell, fellow Olympic track and field greats Gail Devers, Greg Foster and Valerie Brisco-Hooks and actor-comedian Joe Torry.
