Famed singers Marilyn McCoo & Billy Davis Jr. pen new book about their love and the entertainment world
Jet, Oct 18, 2004
Grammy Award-winning artists Marilyn McCoo and husband Billy Davis Jr. gained fame while singing with the 5th Dimension, one of the biggest groups of the '60s, with such hits as Up, Up and Away and The Age of Aquarius. Today the happy couple share some of the most important moments of their lives in their new book Up, Up and Away: How We Found Love, Faith and Lasting Marriage in the Entertainment World.
Attempting to have a relationship amid a glamorous Hollywood lifestyle can take its toll on any marriage, and this is something that McCoo and Davis can testify to. In their recently released book, which includes a new CD, the husband-and-wife team talk about how they met, their successful musical careers, and their major struggles behind closed doors. McCoo and Davis, who also topped the music charts as a duo with You Don't Have to be a Star (to be in My Show), not only tell of the ups and downs in their 30-plus-year relationship, but they also offer practical marriage advice and spiritual encouragement.
The inspirational/motivational/ biography offers McCoo and Davis' unique perspective on love and life. It is a perfect example of people with average struggles who have "learned by doing" and have gained valuable lessons from the mistakes they've made along the way.
