> Transportation Secretary Rodney E. Slater scheduled a summit April 24-28 in Houston to beef up economic activity in Africa. He has invited African heads of state, senior U.S. decision-makers and private representatives from both continents for the critical discussions. Dr. Gilbert Green was appointed North American Vice President of the American Management Association, becoming the first African-American named to such a prestigious post in the AMA's 75-year history.
