Hit performers Aaliyah, Sisqo, Destiny's Child, Dr. Dre and Macy Gray were among the big winners at the recent MTV Video Music Awards ceremony.
Comedian brothers Shawn and Marion Wayans hosted the annual awards show, which aired live from Radio City Music Hall in New York.
Sisqo, who performed his big dance tune Thong Song during the awards show, went home with a MTV Video Music Award for Best Hip Hop Video for the song.
Hit singer Aaliyah who starred in the movie Romeo Must Die, received two honors, including Best Video From A Film for her hit, Try Again. She also won for Best Female Video for Try Again.
Hit group Destiny's Child went home with an award in the Best R&B Video category Say My Name.
Rap performer-producer Dr. Dre shared the Best Rap Video award with his protege, Eminem, for their hit, Forget About Dre.
New singer Macy Gray won the Best New Artist award for I Try and Best Cinematography for Do Something.
Among the evening's highlights were show-stopping appearances by superstar Janet Jackson, who performed her hit Doesn't Really-Matter and Toni Braxton who sang her smash He Wasn't Man Enough.
