SPIKE LEE'S SPORTS DOCUMENTARY ON JIM BROWN: Legendary NFL great Jim Brown works with famed filmmaker Spike Lee during the HBO sports documentary Jim Brown: All American. The movie, which Lee directed and produced, explores just about every aspect of the 66-year-old controversial football legend's life.
The first half of the documentary deals with his early life and stellar athletic accomplishments; the second half deals with his life after football as an actor. Brown's private life as a ladies' man and the countless accusations of assault on men and women are also dealt with in the candid biography. Brown, considered to be one of football's greatest running backs ever, played only nine seasons for the Cleveland Browns and led the NFL in rushing eight times. In 1965, his final season, Brown won his second MVP after he led the league in rushing with 1,544 yards and scoring 21 touchdowns (17 running).
