Memphis' new postmaster

MEMPHIS' NEW POSTMASTER: Ruby Bridgeforth takes the oath of office as Memphis' 32nd postmaster from U.S. Postal Service (USPS) Southeast Area Vice President William Brown as her husband, Anthony, looks on during her installation ceremony in Memphis. In the post, Bridgeforth becomes the first Black metro manager in the USPS southeast area. She is responsible for 3,437 employees and 83 facilities. Bridgeforth earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff and master's degrees in music education from Arkansas State Univ. and business administration from Belhaven College. She began her postal career in 1981 as an operator in Achorage, AK. She has been acting Postal Career Executive Service Postmaster/Metro Manager in Memphis since April.
