MARLA GIBBS GALLERY: Legendary actress Marla Gibbs (2nd, r) is honored by Los Angeles Councilmember Bernard C. Parks (c), Margie J. Reese (2nd, l), general manager of the Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs, and Gibbs' children, Dorian Gibbs (l) and Angela Gibbs, with a special naming ceremony at the Vision Theatre that named the lobby of the theatre "The Marla Gibbs Gallery." The lobby features various exhibits and portraits United States Congresswoman Diane Watson was also in attendance to congratulate Gibbs for her positive role in the African-American community.

Gibbs, most recognized for her roles on "The Jeffersons" and "227," is a four-time Emmy nominee and eight-time NAACP Image Award winner, Many friends gathered and spoke of her incredible contributions to her Los Angeles community and how she never left her neighborhood despite her winning fame as a Hollywood actress. During the reception, the guests enjoyed performances by banjo player Paxton and Phyllis Battle of the 5th Dimension.
