Lottery Winners

Jet, April 9, 2001

Illinois Lottery Director Lori Montana presents a commemorative check for $33 million won in the Illinois Lottery's Lotto game to Eddie and Eunice Suber of Chicago. The winning numbers were 11-13-17-24-30-49. Eddie Suber, a social services counselor, almost missed his winning chance. When he put the handpicked Lotto numbers into the store's machine, they initially refused to go through.

But that stubborn ticket resulted in a $33 million win for the couple. "We were in awe for the rest of the night," said Eunice Suber.
