Caption: University of New Mexico's new men's basketball coach Ritchie McKay talks to the media at the Pit in Albuquerque, NM. McKay was previously head coach for Oregon State where he posted a 22-37 record. At 36, McKay was the youngest head coach in the Pac-10 Conference. In his six years as a head coach, including two years each at Colorado State and Portland State, McKay has a career record of 83-89. A graduate of Seattle Pacific University in 1987, as a player there he left as the single-season and career recordholder for steals.
