The top college queen

THE TOP COLLEGE QUEEN: Samantha Thomas, a senior broadcast journalism major who reigns as Miss Lincoln University (LU) in Jefferson City, MO, is congratulated by LU prexy David B. Henson on campus at Scruggs Center during a reception in honor of her recent coronation as Miss National Black College Alumni Hall of Fame 2003-2004 at the Competition of Black College Queens in Atlanta.
The reigning queens of the 117 Historically Black Colleges and Universities compete in the event. Thomas performed magic tricks and recited a speech titled "Historically Black Colleges and Universities: The Root of the Black Community." As Queen her duties will consist of being the spokesperson for the National Black College Alumni Hall of Fame and working with the 100 Black Men Scholarships for college.
